Network Protocol/Port Forwarding Information

Solution

The directory media players (PCs) require the ability to make outgoing connections via the following protocols:

  • HTTP (80) (for up-to-date Weather Information every hour via RSS feed)
  • FTP (21) (for downloading updates to the directory source code from EDC's servers)

We also have remote support software installed on these machines. They are running GoToAssist Remote Support service, and have the following port forwarding requirements:

  • Ability to make direct outgoing TCP connections or availability of an HTTP proxy or a SOCKS server
  • Outbound TCP connections to Ports 80, 443, and 8200.
